COVID-19 STATEMENT:

We are happier than ever to welcome you back for the 9th season of the East Haddam Farmers’ Market!

COVID-19 has wreaked havoc on our communities, our businesses, our families, and our economy overall. It has been a trying time for many folks, and the time has come for us to provide everything we can to everyone we can.

Farmers’ markets around the country will not be open this season to serve their communities.

We want you to know that as your Market Masters, we are absolutely 100% committed to providing this ESSENTIAL ACTIVITY during this crucial time in our lives.

Why are we so committed?

Our local markets are vital to the local communities we serve, providing venues to buy healthy, local food, and opportunities to shop while practicing social distancing. It is more important than ever for our customers to connect with the people who grow their food, and make their products, and to buy as close to home as possible. The closer to home these sources are, the fewer hands have touched the food and the products, providing the SAFEST AND HEALTHIEST way to purchase food and goods.

With this said, it is absolutely vital that WE ALL adhere to the health and safety standards identified by the CDC and our local health department in order to provide a safe and reliable source of nutritious foods. To do this properly, we must be thinking differently on how to best deliver the very best to our communities. Practices and procedures will be in place to ensure a safe environment for our market staff, volunteers, farmers, and vendors while providing a safe shopping experience for our customers.
